Experience drawing in one of Castlemaine's most fabulous heritage interiors.
Drink N Draw is an untutored life drawing gathering open to anyone wanting to extend their drawing practice or try something new. The atmosphere is relaxed, social and non-competitive. An evening typically includes short warm up exercises followed by longer poses. Boards, easels and refreshments are provided - BYO paper and drawing materials. For more information, visit our facebook page and join the private facebook group where you’ll receive regular D’n’D community updates.
drawing & community
"To draw a tree, to pay such close attention to every aspect of a tree, is an act of reverence not only toward the tree but also to our human connection to it. It gives us almost visionary moments of connectedness." Alan Lee
Life drawing for wildlife rescue
A fundraiser has been organised for the Wildlife Victoria Bushfire Appeal . All funds raised on the night will be donated to Wildlife Victoria. Drawing can be a time for quiet reflection and a great way to ground oneself - something we all need at this time as we come to terms with this new reality. Talking and being with others also helps us process.
The Old Freemasons Hall
Renovations at the Old Freemasons Hall have been completed and the venue is once again fit for use. This means that life drawing sessions can commence again in 2020.
Drawing Albums Exhibition
The drawings produced during the Drawing Albums sessions were exhibited to the public as part of the Open Studios component of the Castlemaine State Festival 2017.
